PechaKucha Night 20x20 KNOXVILLE
On Tuesday, November 11, 2014, I gave a PechaKucha
talk as part of the PKN Knoxville Vol. 13
event (held at Relix Variety Theatre
). Here's a description of my presentation:"Right Angle Reply (Tall Grasses)" illustrates how artists benefit by having their practices expanded to interact with the surrounding community. Large projects, such as this one, can greatly benefit from artists working with professionals in other industries (architecture, engineering, materials science, business, etc.) and bringing others with varied skill sets into the conversation. This artwork is also an example of how presenting a passionate vision, with humble requests, to businesses can yield support and resources for the realization of a large scale project.
